This October and November, Floorworld is proud to partner once again with the Pancare Foundation for our national fundraising campaign, Step Up for a Cure 2025.
This is more than a promotion. It is a movement that brings together our stores, supplier partners, and customers to stand united in the fight against some of Australia’s most lethal and underfunded cancers.
Each day in Australia, 11 people are diagnosed with an upper gastrointestinal (GI) cancer, including pancreatic, liver, stomach, oesophageal and biliary cancers. These are often referred to as “silent killers” because their early symptoms are subtle and can be mistaken for common digestive issues.
Unfortunately, this means diagnoses come late, and outcomes are often devastating.
Upper GI cancers account for nearly 1 in 5 cancer deaths in Australia each year, yet they remain among the most overlooked in terms of funding, research, and public awareness.
That’s why we’ve chosen to act. And we invite you to join us.
This campaign is deeply personal to the Floorworld network. We’ve felt the pain of these diseases firsthand, having lost two of our own, Billy Tsapatsaris and Glen Jeffcoat, to upper GI cancers. Their courage, legacy, and contribution to our Floorworld family continue to inspire everything we do.
Step Up for a Cure 2025 is our way of honouring their memory and standing alongside thousands of other Australian families affected by these cancers.
During October and November, a portion of every eligible flooring product sold through participating Floorworld stores will contribute to Pancare’s life-saving mission. That includes funding for critical medical research that will aid in early detection and the development of new treatment methods, ultimately saving lives.
